When I decided to make myself a wall hanging for the bedroom a few weeks ago, I knew it needed to be something similar to Jacquie's work here. That picture had been on my Pinterest board for a long time and it was perfect for the wall closest to my side of the bed.

Modern log cabins are so much fun to make - so liberating. I chose Kona Coal, White, Bahama Blue and Citrus. I love the little pops of yellow with the grey, white and blue.

To quilt it, I used my walking foot and some Aurifil 50 wt in Dove to quilt a square spiral, starting in the centre of the quilt and working my way out. This made for lots and lots of turning, but it was so much worth the effort. I just love the look of the quilting on this wall hanging.

The finished size is 36" square. I am beyond proud of this and I smile every time I walk into my bedroom and see it hanging there!
I will be linking up at Amanda Jean's for Finish It Up Friday and at Crazy Dutch Bird Quilts for TGIFF.
So tell me - who inspires you when you quilt?
